The entire "K" naming convention has always been about horizontal resolution (for consumer displays assumed to be in a landscape orientation). Some consumers started calling 2560x1440 resolution 2K for some absurd and unknown reason and it doesn't even make sense. I was correcting Disposabledustbunny when he stated " In no shape or form is 2560x1440 "2k."" which it actually is. I never said anything about total pixel count. I'm not sure why you are referring to total number of pixels at all. Introduce different aspect ratios into the conversation and it all becomes even more meaningless. The difference here is that there isn't another common resolution that actually has ~8000 horizontal pixels of resolution to cause confusion with, whereas we do have a common resolution that actually has ~2000 horizonal pixels of resolution, that being a 1920x1080 display. Now we have "8K" displays with 7680x4320 resolutions and it's a similar situation as people calling 2560x1440 resolutions 2K. But marketing departments are going to market, and since 3840x2160 displays have 4x the pixel count of a 1080p display, simply calling it 2160p wasn't good enough because I guess people lack basic math skills. There is no logical reasoning to calling a 1440p monitor a 2K display, especially when you already have an actual "2K" resolution in 1080p displays (or close enough to it, like with "4K" 3840x2160 monitors).ģ840x2160 is close enough where 4K seems fine, but even then it's a bit of a stretch when there was no reason to not call those displays 2160p when they came out. Just because people say something doesn't mean it is correct. This is a classical ego-stroking mechanism. You went full "it works for my awesome rig,so there is no problem" on people that are affected by it. Then you came in and said, that it works fine on your rig and let us know your specs - so you have no issue and want us to know that you have no issue, eventhough i said that NOT EVERYONE has this issue - meaning your comment is completely useless, other than bragging about your rig and you not having an issue - so we DO get to blame you about wasting our time here at the very least. I wrote, that there was this issue for a lot of people and that they recognized it on the blizzard forums and have hopefully resolved it by now. No one said, that u have bad specs or that it can't run on your pc. You clearly ARE bragging about your specs and are just in denial about it. I have a 13600k,with an rtx 4080 and 32 gb ram - now i'm no expert dev or anything, but i think this isn't a "shitty system" and i think it should be running fine, but i still have this issue. However, the game experience may be significantly diminished.* ![]() \Diablo IV will attempt to run on hardware below minimum specifications, including HDDs, dual-core CPUs, and Integrated GPUs.
